Enzymes of the beta-oxidation pathway implicated in the oxidation of straight chain fatty acids, such as very long fatty acids C26 and C24. Straight fatty acids have a carbon scaffold without methyl-branches. These enzymes are ACOX1, D-PBE, ACAA1 and SCPX and are widespread in the peroxisomal bearing organisms.
