Enzymes that regulates the Coenzyme A pool, which may also affect the acyl-CoAs pool, abrogate the chain-shortening completion during the FA-oxidation, or avoid the oxidation. The enzymes considered are:
a) carnitine acetyltransferases CRAT and COT,
b) acyl-CoA thioesterases PTE1, PTE2, PTE2a and PTE2b
c)Coenzyme A diphosphatases (NUDIXs) that hydrolyse the Coenzyme A. |
